The earliest delivery timelines for the Ola S1 and S1 Pro scooters will now be Dec. 15-31, even as the company drums up more hype around its vehicles.
Bengaluru: Ola Electric said on Friday that a recent accident involving one of its electric scooters in Guwahati – which left the rider hospitalised last month – had not been caused by any malfunction in its vehicle.

On April 15, the rider’s father wrote on Twitter that the scooter accelerated when the rider tried to brake, leading to the accident.

Balwant Singh said his son had to be hospitalised on March 26 and had fractures in his left hand and 16 stitches on the right “due to fault in Ola S1 Pro.”

In a statement on Twitter, Ola Electric said the “rider was over-speeding” and that “he braked in panic, thereby losing control of the vehicle. There is nothing wrong with the vehicle.”

The company cited data it was able to collect from the electric scooter. It said the scooter's operating system tracks various vehicle sensor data, which it receives in real time over the internet.
