NTT Data Payment Services' chief executive officer Dewang Neralla has quit, two people in the know told ETtech.

“He resigned sometime over the last two weeks and is currently serving his notice period,” said one of the persons cited earlier, adding that chief strategy officer Takeo Ueno will take over the post of CEO.

Neralla and NTT Data Payment Services India did not respond to ETtech’s email query on the matter.

The person cited earlier said Neralla intends to have his own startup and is looking at the cross-border payments space for his next venture.

Digital payments company NTT Data Payment Services is the local subsidiary of Tokyo-headquartered information technology giant NTT Data. NTT Data had entered India in 2018 by acquiring 55% of Atom Technologies. The company had invested $9.2 million then. Before the acquisition, Atom was owned by 63 Moons Technologies.

Neralla, who was the CEO of Atom then, became a part of NTT Data India through the acquisition and finished three years of lock-in last September. He waited till March to put in his papers, according to the person cited earlier.
