News website Semafor reported recently that the software giant is in talks to invest $10 billion in OpenAI.
The latest funding round will value OpenAI at $29 billion, and Microsoft will snag 75% of the company’s profits until it recouped its initial investment, Semafor reported.
Post which, it will own a 49% stake in OpenAI, with other investors sharing another 49% between them and OpenAI's non-profit parent firm getting 2%, the report added.
“With Azure OpenAI Service now generally available, more businesses can apply for access to the most advanced AI models in the world—including GPT-3.5, Codex, and DALL•E 2—backed by the trusted enterprise-grade capabilities and AI-optimised infrastructure of Microsoft Azure, to create cutting-edge application,” Microsoft wrote in its blog.
“Customers will also be able to access ChatGPT—a fine-tuned version of GPT-3.5 that has been trained and runs inference on Azure AI infrastructure — through Azure OpenAI Service soon.”
Microsoft said CarMax, KPMG, Moveworks and others were using its Azure OpenAI service.
According to Nivargi, Azure OpenAI Service will also radically enhance the existing enterprise search capabilities and supercharge analytics and data visualization offerings.
