Microsoft's Teams, Outlook and other services were down in some parts of India on Wednesday as users reported facing several issues.

The services were back online after more than four hours of downtime.

Users in India took to social media platforms, complaining they were unable to access the Microsoft Teams, Office, Azure, and Microsoft 365 and other services.

Microblogging site Twitter saw a flurry of posts with #MicrosoftTeams and #Outlook amid the outage.

Microsoft Teams' official Twitter handle also joined in the barrage of posts on the outage with a tweet saying 'Set your status to "Be right back" and have a snack, friend'.

It showed there were more than 3,700 incidents of people reporting issues with Microsoft Teams in India.

Cities affected by the outage include Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Chennai, according to the website.

Meanwhile, Microsoft has acknowledged the issue. A tweet by Microsoft 365 Status read, "We're investigating issues impacting multiple Microsoft 365 services."

"We've identified a potential networking issue and are reviewing telemetry to determine the next troubleshooting steps. Any user serviced by the affected infrastructure may be unable to access multiple Microsoft 365 services," it said.

A day later Microsoft said it would submit a detailed review of what caused the outage this week.

The company confirmed that it rolled back a network change that "it believes was causing the impact".

"We determined that a change made to the Microsoft Wide Area Network (WAN) impacted connectivity between clients on the internet to Azure, connectivity between services within regions, as well as ExpressRoute connections," the company posted on its Azure cloud service website.
