Meta's Instagram down for thousands, Downdetector shows

Meta Platforms's Instagram was down for thousands of users on Thursday, according to outage tracking website Downdetector.com.

More than 5,000 users reported issues with accessing the photo-sharing platform in the United States at the peak of the outage, Downdetector's data showed.

Downdetector tracks outages by collating status reports from several sources, including user-submitted errors on its platform.


Earlier this month, social media platforms owned by Meta, Facebook, Instagram Messenger and Threads, had suffered massive global outages.

Downdetector also showed that nearly 15,381 people in India reported that Facebook is suffering an outage on March 5, while more than 19,200 users reported a downtime on Instagram.
