Marvell in advanced talks to buy Lumentum: Bloomberg News

Marvell Technology is in advanced discussions to buy photonic product maker Lumentum Holdings, Bloomberg News reported on Wednesday, citing people familiar with the matter.

Marvell has emerged as one of the biggest beneficiaries of the AI boom, driven by strong demand for its custom AI chips and networking hardware that connect data center servers and artificial intelligence systems.

The deal could be announced as soon as next week, the report said, adding that the discussions were still private.


Marvell and Lumentum did not immediately respond to Reuters requests for comment.
