Lucid trims 12% of workforce as it seeks profitability: Report

Lucid is ​laying off 12% ‌of its ⁠workforce ⁠to "improve ​operational effectiveness ​and optimize our ​resources ⁠as ‌we ​continue ​on ⁠our path toward ​profitability," TechCrunch reported ​on Friday, ‌citing an ​internal ​memo.

Lucid said on Friday ‌it ⁠was laying ⁠off 12% of its US workforce as the electric-vehicle maker seeks to improve gross margin ⁠and long-term ‌growth.

The ​company ​had about ⁠6,800 full-time employees globally, as of ​December 31, 2024.

The ​cuts will not impact hourly production employees at ‌the company's manufacturing facility in Arizona, ​a ​Lucid spokesperson ⁠said in a statement.
