Karnataka minister MB Patil seeks Kumaraswamy’s help to reach potential semicon investor

Kumaraswamy, who represents the district in the Lok Sabha, wrote to Patil in October informing him about a proposal from Abhay K Rai, CTO, at the “US-based technology enterprise Sanson Group.” The union minister said the Group is keen to set up an end-to-end semiconductor fabrication unit for silicon and silicon carbide in Mandya district, for which they need 100 acres of land. Patil has written to Kumaraswamy seeking his help to reach the company’s leadership, after state officials were unable to contact them.
Patil, in a letter to Kumaraswamy, said state officials could not establish contact with the US company in spite of repeated efforts.
The state government had responded positively to the letter it had received from the union minister about the investment opportunity, Patil said. “Several attempts have been made to contact Sanson Group’s Chief Technology Officer and Head of Indian Operations, Abhay K. Rai, to seek further details of the proposed project. However, there has been no response from his side so far,” Patil added.
There is no hurdle to allotting 100 acres of land to the company in Mandya district at a location with adequate water supply, power, and connectivity, the state minister assured, and offered to speed up land allotment, along with the required approvals and infrastructure support if the company makes a formal pitch.
