The ministry of electronics and information technology (MeitY) has extended the last date to submit feedback on the draft Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Rules, 2025 to March 5, said an official note issued on Friday.

"MeitY has published the draft DPDP Rules on its website on 3rd January 2025 for public consultation. Feedback or comments from the stakeholders on the draft Rules were invited until 18th February, 2025. In response to the representations received from several stakeholders, the Ministry has decided to extend the last date for receipt of feedback/comments till 5th March 2025," the note said.

Both the draft rules and the DPDP Act, 2023 can be accessed on the ministry’s website, it added.


ET had reported on February 14 quoting a government official that a 15-day extension will be provided for submitting feedback on the draft DPDP Rules.
