Musk informed the Twitter staff during his first direct call about his goals for the company once he assumes ownership, including making it more like TikTok and WeChat and permitting "outrageous remarks".
However, Tesla's CEO emphasised that such remarks should not be amplified.
If Twitter is to meet the goal of one billion users, it needs to become more like WeChat and TikTok, he told the employees.
According to The Verge, Musk responded to an employee's question by saying that people should be permitted to "say pretty outrageous things within the law" but that such speech must not always be amplified.
