“Intel India country head and VP of Intel Foundry Services, Nivruti Rai, is departing Intel after 29 years with the company. We are grateful to Nivruti for the tremendous progress Intel India has made under her leadership,” Intel said in a statement.
Rai, who started as a design engineer with Intel worked with the company in the US from 1994 to 2005. In September 2005, she moved to Bengaluru as a senior director of chipset engineering and intellectual property development at the group.
In 2022, Rai was awarded Nari Shakti Puraskar in recognition of her exceptional contribution to women's empowerment.
Outside of the US, India is the largest engineering centre for Intel. The company said it would soon share more details about the leadership plans for Intel India.
This is the second leadership exit Intel has seen over the last few months. In November last year, Randhir Thakur, the president of the company’s foundry services, had quit the company.
Thakur later joined as the chief executive officer and managing director at Tata Electronics, where he is heading the company’s semiconductor and precision manufacturing efforts.
