Info Edge on Saturday said that the company’s mobile applications Naukri, Naukri Recruiter, Naukrigulf, 99acres and Shiksha have been delisted from the Google Play Store.

In a stock exchange filing, the company said that the removal of apps "comes as a surprise to the company, since this action was taken by Google without giving due and sufficient notice."

"The company is reviewing and evaluating the next course of action and working with Google in this regard, to ensure that the company’s mobile applications are reinstated on the Google Play Store, in the best timely manner," it said.

Google on March 1 said that it has begun taking action against 10 Indian companies for non-compliance with the Android-maker's billing policies, which app developers have opposed.

Info Edge India founder and vice-chairman Sanjeev Bikhchandani, however, said that the company has been compliant with Google's Play Store policies.

"We have been compliant since Feb 9 the date the Supreme Court order came out. There are no pending invoices of Google with us. All have been paid in a timely manner," he had told ET.

Info Edge further said that users who have already downloaded the company's apps can continue to use them.

"In addition, all users that are using the company’s mobile applications through other platforms (such as the Apple App Store) or through the concerned web platforms (on both mobile and desktop), are not impacted by this change," it added.
