A delegation of senior executives from Indian unicorns and startups such as Polygon, Koo, Builder.ai, Nykaa, and Safexpay met British Prime Minister Boris Johnson to discuss the future of India-UK collaboration in innovation and technology, sources in the know of the development said.

The delegation, led by the minister of state for electronics and information technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar also discussed the various plans and achievements of the Digital India mission over the last seven years, a senior government official said.

Earlier this year in April, India and the UK had, during the visit of Johnson to India, welcomed the signing of the Joint Declaration of Intent on Digital and Technology.

In a joint statement then issued, the governments had said that India and UK looked forward to finalising arrangements for the India-UK Strategic Tech Dialogue during the year.

“India and the UK agree to jointly work towards promotion of collaboration on AI to deliver economic and social benefits to both countries, and improve the application of AI to solve societal challenges,” the joint statement then said.
