India to play a key role as global innovation hub: Broadridge President Chris Perry

India is positioned to play a key role as a global innovation hub for Broadridge Financial Solutions as it leverages artificial intelligence and digitisation to drive the next phase of growth, said the president of the US-based fintech company.

A top technology supplier to banks, financial market brokers and dealers, and asset managers, Broadridge is expanding its operations in India from a cost-efficiency base to a global hub for product and research development. Chris Perry said the company has a multimillion-dollar revenue target for India.

"Our goal is to make India not just a base for delivery, but a centre of opportunity, innovation, and leadership," Perry said. "We're investing heavily in local talent, digital capabilities, and community programmes. India's combination of engineering talent and renewable energy growth gives it an edge in powering the AI revolution."


While Broadridge doesn't yet provide services in India, it has operated here for almost thirty years and currently has an offshoring capacity of 5,000 people, he added. India needs to be prepared for the challenges that will arise from the AI-led change, he said. "India has the greatest opportunity in the world around AI, but also the greatest risk. The country must move from labour arbitrage to innovation-led growth if it wants to lead this revolution."

As part of its long-term digital transformation strategy, the company that reported $6.5 billion in 2024 revenue has invested more than $1 billion into AI, embedding it into every part of its operations and products, Perry said.
