Software services firm HCLTech on June 3 announced the launch of its global delivery centre in Patna. The centre will focus on the delivery of IT and engineering services for hi-tech and semiconductor companies.

The centre was inaugurated by Bihar’s minister of industries, Nitish Mishra, and Santosh Kumar Suman, minister of information technology (IT).

“I am happy that HCLTech is launching a new office in Patna. This will bring positive changes in the IT sector of Bihar, increase employment opportunities and other IT companies will also be inspired to invest in Bihar,” said Mishra.

This is HCLTech’s first centre in Bihar. Going forward, the centre will also house specialised labs and centres of excellence to boost the IT company’s technology innovation engine and offer a wide range of services to global clients.

This centre is in line with HCLTech’s strategy of accessing quality talent through expansion to new locations in India under its New Vistas program.

“The centre will also contribute to the development of the local technology ecosystem and bring opportunities for local youth,” said Prateek Aggarwal, chief financial officer, HCLTech.
