The upcoming Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA VI) video game, slated for release in 2025, has set the gaming ecosystem buzzing with excitement as gamers discuss the possible storyline and streamers anticipate a surge in viewership.

American game studio Rockstar Games, which has been working on GTA VI since 2014, released the first trailer of the game on Tuesday, confirming its setting to be based on a fictionalised version of Miami, called Vice City, with near-realistic graphics and introducing the franchise's first female protagonist seen pulling off Bonnie and Clyde-like heists in the game. The trailer became the most viewed videogame trailer in 24 hours, achieving a Guiness Record with 90,421,491 views on YouTube, underlining the excitement around the release.

Long-standing fans of the franchise commended Rockstar for achieving never-before-seen levels of realism in depicting the open world.

"GTA VI's Vice City is taking realism to the next level with a massive city, stunning water physics, bustling beaches, and immersive lighting at night. Can't wait to experience it all!," one of the posts on X (formerly Twitter) read. Some talked about the in-game elements, trying to find out small details to get an idea of what to expect this time, while others were simply happy about the fact that the game is finally about to launch, albeit more than a year later.

"Looks insanely good honestly, I don't mind them taking the time. Lets just hope for an early 2025 release so we don't have to wait for 2 full years," another user posted on Reddit. "Man, it's crazy. I was a freshman in high school when GTA V came out. And now I'm gonna be 27 when it comes out. People really lived a whole chapter of their lives between games," wrote another.
