Garuda Aerospace Signs MoU with Sri Lanka's CYOL

As part of this partnership, Garuda Aerospace has officially launched its operations in Sri Lanka. The Chennai-based company will collaborate with CYOL to deliver a new approach to farming and technology integration.

Drone manufacturer Garuda Aerospace on Tuesday said it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with CYOL, a Sri Lankan provider of of advanced agricultural technology solutions as they both look to expand their operations in Australia, Africa, and Asia.

The companies said that the MoU was signed by CYOL chairman and director Chamitha Ranneththi and Garuda Aerospace Ceylon's directors Sanjeewa Dissanayake, S Mahendran and Vincent Renold.

As part of this partnership, Garuda Aerospace has officially launched its operations in Sri Lanka. ET was the first to report in August that the drone startup had expanded its operations in Sri Lanka, the first as part of its Global Garuda initiative. The Chennai-based company will collaborate with CYOL to deliver a new approach to farming and technology integration.


“This collaboration with CYOL cements our commitment is a significant step toward advancing precision farming and technological innovation in agriculture across these key regions. By combining our drone expertise with CYOL’s robust software solutions, we are confident that this partnership will create significant value for farmers and stakeholders," Agnishwar Jayaprakash, founder and CEO, Garuda Aerospace said in a statement.

The companies are looking to provide farmers with real-time insights, optimized resource management, and enhanced crop monitoring capabilities. They will provide a comprehensive suite of services, offering farmers holistic tools for optimizing their operations and adopting sustainable agricultural practices.
