Facebook takes down Satheesan interview after Kerala police notice
A segment of an interview with Kerala leader of opposition V D Satheesan, of the Congress, aired on a television news channel, has been taken down by Facebook following directions from the state police.

The interview, recorded and broadcast on Tuesday, was uploaded on social media the same day and went viral shortly after. The cyber wing of the Kerala police issued a notice to Facebook under section 79 (3) (b) of the IT Act, 2000, seeking to block access to the content.

“We had asked for the comments on the social media reel to be removed as there were some vulgar remarks under the post. However, the video itself was removed instead. We have written to Meta seeking restoration of the video,” an official from the cyber police wing said.

The interview had Satheesan criticising the ruling LDF government in the context of the upcoming assembly elections. It also talked about the guarantees and promises of the opposition UDF.

The police said that though the video has been removed the post is still there on Facebook.
