Elon Musk’s AI chatbot Grok now available in India, 46 other countries

Billionaire Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence (AI) company xAI has rolled out its chatbot Grok to India and 46 other countries, including Australia, Canada, Malaysia and New Zealand.

The service was extended for Musk's social media platform X’s Premium+ subscribers in the US earlier this month. Grok competes with the likes of OpenAI's viral chatbot ChatGPT and recently launched Google's Gemini AI.

Taking to X, CEO Linda Yaccarcino posted, “Grok is now gracing the world in even more countries, spreading knowledge and laughter far and wide. The future is looking brighter already!”



As more advertisers shun the microblogging platform, Musk has stressed reducing the company's reliance on advertising and has shifted his focus on paid subscriptions.

The social network that Musk bought a year ago launched the Premium+ plan last week for $16 per month, with benefits like no ads.

Musk had earlier said that he intends to turn X into a "super app", offering a range of services to its subscribers from messaging and social networking to peer-to-peer payments.

The X owner had launched his startup xAI in July, joining the AI race.

xAI had earlier this month filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission to raise up to $1 billion in an equity offering, according to a regulatory filing. It has so far raised $134.7 million in equity financing from a total offering amount of $1 billion, the filing showed.
