Elon Musk says Donald Trump’s Truth Social is currently beating Twitter, TikTok

Mumbai: The cofounder and chief executive officer (CEO) of Tesla, Elon Musk shared the rankings of the free apps on the Apple Store calling attention to Truth Social saying, “Truth Social is currently beating Twitter & TikTok on the Apple Store.” This comes a day after Elon Musk reached a deal to buy Twitter for $44 billion and said he will make it “better than ever.”


Truth Social launched by Trump Media & Technology group is the most downloaded free app on Apple Store on Tuesday followed by Twitter and TikTok in fifth place. It is a social media platform created by Trump Media & Technology Group, an American media, and technology company founded in October 2021 by former US president Donald Trump.


Trump launched his own social networking site after he was banned from Twitter. His idea to come up with the site was to push an alternative to Twitter.

Musk too, claims to be a free speech absolutist. He has questioned the company’s moderation practices.


Days after the chaos at the Capitol, Twitter permanently suspended Trump’s account due to the risk of further incitement of violence. The Republicans were critical of Twitter for banning former President Trump’s account.

However, Trump said on Monday that he will not return to Twitter even if his account is reinstated following the platform's purchase by billionaire Elon Musk. “I hope Elon buys Twitter because he’ll make improvements to it and he is a good man, but I am going to stay on Truth," he said.
