Ashok Shastry, cofounder and board member of on-demand driver aggregator DriveU, stepped down from day-to-day operations of the company at the end of July. He continues to serve as a member of the board of directors.

"This decision was not an easy one—DriveU has been the heart of my professional life for the past 10 years—but it is purely a personal one. My stepping away is independent of the company's performance and strategic direction, both of which remain strong and on a positive trajectory," Shastry wrote in a LinkedIn post.

DriveU was cofounded in 2015 by Shastry and Rahm Shastry, along with Amulmeet Singh Chadha. Shastry began serving as the chief operating officer and subsequently held multiple leadership positions, including chief growth officer and chief executive officer.

"I'll continue to support the company as a member of the board of directors as it moves into its next chapter," he added.

The company reported revenue of Rs 111.8 crore in financial year 2025, up from Rs 91.6 crore in the previous financial year, as ET reported in July. Profit rose to Rs 1.73 crore in FY25, from Rs 11 lakh in FY24.

"Ashok was instrumental in building the company, especially during Covid, when we faced operational challenges. However, currently, we are in a comfortable stage," Rahm Shastry, chief operating officer of DriveU, told ET in an interaction.
