Creator-focussed platform Cosmofeed processed earnings worth over Rs 100 crore for more than 5,000 creators in FY23.

During the financial year, nearly a third of the creator base made their first earnings using the platform with 40% of them from tier 2 and 3 cities. The platform also saw a significant spike in regional creators launching their services.

Founded by Vivek Yadav and Vishnu Pathak in September 2021, the company is a platform that helps creators and micro-entrepreneurs build communities, host events, and better monetise their offerings.

“Today, India’s creator economy is booming, with more than eight crore creators and professionals. And yet, less than 0.2% of them can effectively monetise their content. Our platform is tailored to help these professionals create and improve their avenues for earning,” said Yadav, cofounder, Cosmofeed.

The company has so far raised funding from growX ventures, Waveform Ventures, 9Unicorns, Singapore-based investment holding company Silk Bridge Partners (SBP), and several other angel investors, including Swati Mohan, former CMO, Netflix India.

Some of the company’s content monetisation tools include earning through subscriptions from communities, live sessions done via events, and building and selling a repository of their content through courses.

“While established and macro influencers have decent opportunities to monetise their content, nano and micro-influencers lack the awareness and tools. One of the major concerns was enabling individuals or businesses to sell their products or services online without needing a dedicated website or payment gateways,” added Yadav.

Cosmofeed helped creators bridge this gap on their platform. Another concern was streamlining the organising and managing of offline and online events, and the company’s events feature enabled users to create and promote events seamlessly. While many creators and community managers utilised social media to engage with their audience and build communities, the company helps creators and influencers monetise and manage their audiences.
