Clubhouse’s international head Aarthi Ramamurthy departs from the social audio app

Aarthi Ramamurthy, the international head of the audio-based social network, Clubhouse, has stepped down after over a year of joining the company.

Announcing her departure on Twitter, Ramamurthy wrote, “Career update! After over a year, I’ve decided to leave Clubhouse - I’m so grateful for the opportunity to lead international product efforts and scale Clubhouse across the world and learn from the best coworkers in the industry.”



Ramamurthy’s previous stints include Meta, Netflix and Microsoft. She had also founded a YC backed photography gear rental startup, Lumoid.

“I’m going to take some time off to be funemployed for the first time in my career, continue to be an active angel investor and product advisor,” wrote Ramamurthy in a separate tweet.



Clubhouse, which boomed during the pandemic amid the lockdown, was last valued at around $4 billion. However, since the opening up of the economy, the company has been struggling with competition increasing from the likes of Twitter Spaces.
