Chipmaker NXP considers impact of Chinese export curbs

Chipmaker NXP Semiconductors on Wednesday said it was examining whether new Chinese export curbs on certain gallium and germanium products will affect its business.

NXP, listed on Nasdaq but headquartered in the Netherlands, makes some chips for the auto and communications sectors using gallium or germanium.

"We are currently reviewing the restrictions scheduled to go into effect August 1st to determine what, if any, impact there may be to our business," the company said.
