China welcomes Dutch pause on Nexperia seizure but says full revocation still needed
China's Commerce Ministry said on Wednesday it welcomed the Dutch government's decision to suspend its seizure of Chinese-owned, Netherlands-based chipmaker Nexperia, calling it a "first step in the right direction."

It said that the move fell short of what it had hoped for, namely a withdrawal of the administrative order that triggered the Dutch intervention, which Beijing blamed for causing turbulence and disruption in global semiconductor supply chains.

"At the same time, the erroneous ruling by the Enterprise Chamber, made under the direction of the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs, to strip Wingtech Technology of control over Nexperia remains a key obstacle to resolving the issue," it added.
