China urges Samsung to boost investment, vows fair environment

China on Tuesday urged Samsung Electronics to expand investment in the country, ‌pleding ⁠a ⁠transparent and fair environment for foreign firms as it looked to stabilise global semiconductor ⁠supply chains.

China ‌hoped ​Samsung ​could strengthen ⁠its commitment to developing in China, ​Zheng Shanjie, the ​head of the National Development and Reform Commission, ‌told Samsung Chairman Jay ​Y. Lee in ​a ⁠meeting, according to an official statement.
