ChatGPT down for users globally, OpenAI says “working to roll out a fix”

Microsoft-backed OpenAI's chatbot ChatGPT is experiencing a global outage, preventing users worldwide from accessing it.

The outage has affected not only ChatGPT but also OpenAI's API and Sora platforms.

"We're experiencing an outage right now. We have identified the issue and are working to roll out a fix. Sorry, and we'll keep you updated!" OpenAI posted on social media platform X.



The outage has caused widespread disruption, with many firms that rely on OpenAI's API for their projects also affected. Users have taken to social media to express their frustration and confusion, with many reporting slow login processes and degraded performance.

Outage monitoring service Downdetector shows there has been a significant spike in complaints about ChatGPT being offline.

By late morning, the services for ChatGPT, API, and Sora were fully restored.


OpenAI updated this news on X saying, "ChatGPT, API, and Sora were down today but we've recovered."
