ChatGPT down for several users; OpenAI says it is monitoring the recovery

OpenAI’s generative AI assistant ChatGPT reported issues for several users globally. As of 8:23 PM, Downdetector showed that outage reports for the platform had climbed over 900 in India.

About 79% of users flagged general outages, 11% experienced mobile app issues, and 5% reported failures on web browsers.

The company has confirmed the service disruptions affecting both ChatGPT and Codex. Per its status page, the primary issue is users being unable to load these services and it is under active investigation.


The dashboard highlights a period of "degraded performance," with system uptime for ChatGPT slipping to 99.85% as engineers work to identify the root cause of the connection failures.

In addition to the general outage, OpenAI noted a specific secondary issue impacting ChatGPT Business. Users in this category may encounter errors for up to an hour following account upgrades or the addition of new seats.
