Tata Digital-backed online grocery company BigBasket has appointed Arpit Jaiswal as its chief growth officer, it said in a statement today. Jaiswal joined BigBasket after spending 15 years at Google India, where he was the head of growth and monetisation at Google Pay

Jaiswal will lead growth across product, user acquisition, retention, and market expansion for the platform. He will also work with other divisions on customer engagement, drive monetisation efficiency and scale BigBasket’s presence in emerging markets.

“As the market evolves, the ability to drive sustainable, high-quality growth becomes critical. Arpit’s deep experience in scaling consumer platforms with a strong focus on efficiency and innovation will be instrumental as we continue to strengthen our market position,” said Hari Menon, founder and CEO, BigBasket.

Additionally, the platform has elevated its head of engineering Keshav Kumar to the CPTO’s (chief product and technology officer) role. Kumar replaced Rakshit Daga, who left BigBasket last July to join WestBridge Capital as an operating advisor.

Kumar has been a part of the grocery delivery platform since 2022. As CPTO, he will be looking at product and technology operations and tech investments.

This development comes at a time when BigBasket is undergoing leadership change. ET reported on April 3 that the founders of Bigbasket, Menon and Vipul Parekh, are in the final stages of moving out of the firm.

Founded in 2011, Bigbasket started as a scheduled delivery platform. After the quick commerce boom in India, it entered the sector through BB Now.

In FY25, BigBasket reported revenues of around Rs 9,900 crore, while losses widened to about Rs 2,000 crore as the company scaled its rapid delivery offering and expanded into adjacent categories.
