And now, Apple has launched its most advanced watch yet — the Apple Watch Series 10, an AI-backed powerhouse that can go beyond monitoring and can even help detect sleep apnea. Here’s what else is part of this watch wonder:
Display and design
Series 10 boasts of Apple’s largest and most advanced display. It has 30% more screen area, a 40% brighter display, which improves visibility and readability, and an OLED screen that’s very power-efficient.
The new watch face, Flux, takes advantage of this larger display, filling the screen with colour. Series 10 introduces a polished aluminum finish, along with rose gold and silver aluminum options. The front crystal is made of durable Ionic blasts, extending further down the sides.
Series 10 is also the thinnest Apple Watch ever, at 9.7 millimeters. A metal back integrates the antenna into the housing, improving cellular performance and maintaining 50-metre water resistance.
Features included
The S10 SiP processor powers machine-learning tasks, enabling features like double-tap on device, Siri dictation and automatic workout detection. It also brings intelligent new features, including smart stack, new photos face, Translation, and using the accelerometer to monitor breathing disturbances, which can also potentially detect sleep apnea.
The new depth app launches automatically when submerged under water, allowing users to see depth to six metres and water temperature. The Tides app shows seven days of tide information, including rising, falling, high and low tides and data for coastlines worldwide.
The Workout app now shows distance, speed and a route map for kayakers, canoers and rowers.
It also delivers the most accurate GPS in a sports watch, with dual-frequency GPS and advanced positioning software. Other features include heart rate zones, pacing features and automatic running track detection.
Pricing and availability
A titanium variant of GPS+ Cellular will cost you Rs 79,900 onwards. Apple Watch Ultra 2 will be available from Rs 89,900 onwards, and Apple Watch Se will start from Rs 24,900.
