Amazon Prime Video on Tuesday informed its subscribers in India that it will begin showing limited advertisements while streaming movies and TV shows on the platform starting from June 17, 2025.

“This will allow us to continue investing in compelling content and keep increasing that investment over a long period of time. We aim to have meaningfully fewer ads than TV channels and other streaming services,” the email sent to subscribers said.

Furthermore, those who want to go ad-free can sign up for the add-on option for an additional Rs 699 per year or Rs 129 per month from June 17.
