Amazon Prime Video extends Watch Party feature to India
The feature allows participants to watch video content together at the same time and chat with their friends and family members using a built-in chat feature.

Available to all Prime members at no extra cost, the feature allows participants to watch video content with their friends and family members at the same time as well as socialize with them using a built-in chat feature.
Users can create their watch parties by clicking on the Watch Party icon on eligible shows or movies and sharing the link with their friends or family. For each session, the host will be able to invite up to 100 participants who are also Prime members and watching the content from within the country. They will be able to play, pause, or stop the video playback for the group.
The service is however currently limited to only web browsers and is not available across other platforms like mobile apps, tablets, or smart TVs.

The company said the feature will be available across "thousands" of titles in its library including its local originals like Mirzapur, Inside Edge, The Family Man, and Made In Heaven and global originals like The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Fleabag, Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan, The Boys, and Hunters among others.
Amazon Prime Video competes with Netflix, Disney+ Hotstar, Essel Group's ZEE5, and Times Internet*-owned MX Player in the country.
