Amazon layoffs: Tech giant to cut over 18,000 jobs due to 'uncertainty in the economy'
Amazon announced on Wednesday that the e-commerce giant will lay off over 18,000 employees, starting January 18. Amazon CEO Andy Jassy, in an email to staff, cited "uncertain economy" and "rapid hiring" as reasons behind the job cuts.
