Amazon accuses Future Retail and its promoters of fraud in newspaper ad

This comes even as both FRL and Amazon have held settlement talks earlier this month over their long-running dispute over the RIL deal.

Bengaluru: Ecommerce major Amazon on Tuesday published an advertisement in the Economic Times newspaper accusing Future Retail (FRL) and its promoters of committing fraud after Reliance Industries (RIL) took over some retail stores of FRL. Amazon and FRL have been locked in a protracted legal battle for more than a year now across Indian courts and international arbitration centre in Singapore over FRL signing a Rs 25,000 crore deal with RIL.

"These actions have been done in a clandestine manner by playing a fraud on the constitutional courts in India, the arbitral tribunal and Indian statutory authorities/agency," Amazon said in its public notice published in today's papers.

This comes even as both FRL and Amazon have held settlement talks earlier this month over their long-running dispute over the RIL deal.
