Adobe on Monday announced the appointment of Shamik Basu as vice president, Creative Products Group in India.

Basu will lead Adobe India's engineering and product management teams, reporting to Ely Greenfield, chief technology officer, Creative Products Group.

With over 8,000 employees across four campuses, India is Adobe's second-largest workforce globally and contributes over a third of the company's innovation agenda.


Announcing the appointment of Basu as vice president, Creative Products Group in India, the company said he will be part of the Adobe India leadership team focused on advancing the company's innovation and growth in India.

"India is a priority market for Adobe and key to advancing intelligent, creator-first experiences at scale. Our India engineering and product teams drive critical innovation across Pro Design, Digital Imaging, Video and Firefly, while bringing deep insight from one of our fastest-growing AI markets," Greenfield said.

Basu's experience building intelligent, large-scale platforms will strengthen local leadership, deepen global alignment and power the next phase of Adobe's growth, Greenfield noted.

Leading Adobe India's engineering and product management teams, Basu will work closely with global leaders on products like Adobe Firefly, Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom, Premiere and more.

He joins Adobe after more than three decades of building large-scale, intelligent software platforms. In his recent stint at Microsoft, he led advances in performance, reliability and AI-powered experiences for users worldwide.

Adobe builds innovative platforms and tools for creativity, productivity, and personalised customer experiences.

The company began operations in India in 1997 as an engineering research and development center, and has since grown into a strategic hub spanning product engineering, design, sales, customer experience, and corporate functions.
