Unacademy ropes in MS Dhoni as brand ambassador

Bengaluru-based online education technology company Unacademy has signed former Indian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni as brand ambassador.

As per sources close to the development, Dhoni has signed a two-year contract with the company for an undisclosed amount.

Sources confirmed that Unacademy had shot an elaborate video with Dhoni last week, which is in the post-production phase at present.


The company is likely to release the new campaign in 2-3 months’ time.

An email query sent to Unacademy remained unanswered till the filing of this report.

Sources added that Dhoni spent time interacting with top educators from Unacademy, who the company had flown down to Mumbai from all across the country.

In February, Sachin Tendulkar had picked up a strategic stake in Unacademy and also became its first celebrity brand endorser. At that time, Unacademy had launched a film titled ‘The Greatest Lesson’ which featured a montage of some key moments - both failure and successes - of the master blaster's career. The idea being to infuse the thought among the youth that failures are only stepping stones to success.

The film has received several awards, and is among the most watched brand campaigns of 2021.
