Krafton ties up with Tesla for Battlegrounds Mobile India

South Korean game developer Krafton has tied up with electric vehicle maker Tesla for Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI). Tesla has installed their Gigafactory at four fixed locations on the map and players can enter this and watch the production of a Tesla Model Y before driving away in it. A self-driving Tesla Semi will also spawn randomly on rural roads and automatically run along specific routes, said the company in a press release. Krafton today released the first content update for the game after its official launch on July 2.

The classic mode has been updated, and several new features have been introduced to improve the gameplay.
On Monday, the company said that BGMI had surpassed 34 million registered users – via Google Play Store -- within a week of its release. It said BGMI had a peak of 16 million daily active users, and 2.4 million peak concurrent users. The game has yet to be launched on Apple iOS.


BGMI is the Indian version of popular battle royale game PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) which was banned in India following a ban on Chinese apps in 2020. The game was earlier published by Chinese internet major Tencent in India.
