Junior IT Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar launches Indus IoT kit in Bengaluru

The Indus IoS kit, none bigger than a credit card, has six sensors, actuators, connectivity and debugging interfaces. It will facilitate development of local and smart solutions in a range of applications.

Bengaluru: Rajeev Chandrasekhar, the Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology on Monday launched Indus IoS kit, a single-board Internet of Things platform developed by the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing in Bengaluru.

Indus here is short for Innovation Development Upskilling.

The kit, not bigger than a credit card, has six sensors, actuators, connectivity and debugging interfaces. It will facilitate development of local and smart solutions in a range of applications including drones, according to a statement. Priced at Rs 2,500 per unit, the Indus IoT kit will soon be available on Government eMarketplace.


The C-DAC is willing to transfer this technology to startups for commercial production.

Chandrasekhar, during his visit to the C-DAC to launch the kit, inspected other technologies developed by the centre, including a smart water meter, smart water distribution system, and high-performance computing offerings covering HPC system software solutions and services. The minister recommended extending IoT for drones, targeted industry use cases of HPC, and engagement with end users early in the design cycle.
