Grok to be a standalone app for MacOS, Windows

Elon Musk said on Wednesday that artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot Grok will be available as a standalone app in Apple MacOS and Windows.

The chatbot operated by Musk's AI company xAI has been in the news for releasing its latest version, Grok 3, which boasts to be the world's smartest AI. It faces rivals OpenAI's ChatGPT and the newly introduced DeepSeek R1 model.



Musk claimed that Grok 3 outperforms Alphabet Inc.'s Google Gemini, DeepSeek's V3 model, Anthropic's Claude, and OpenAI's GPT-4o across mathematics, science, and coding benchmarks.

Grok 2 was launched in August last year. It boasted salient features like the recently introduced image generator Aurora and web search among others.

The Grok AI chatbot is available to anyone for free by signing up on X.

Bloomberg reported on Wednesday that Musk's social media platform, X is in discussions to secure funding from investors at a $44 billion valuation.
