Bhaskar Sambasivan appointed CEO of CitiusTech

Health-tech company CitiusTech has appointed Bhaskar Sambasivan as chief executive officer effective November 1.

Sambasivan joined the company as president in May and has been working closely with Rizwan Koita, the CEO, as part of a structured leadership transition process.

The change comes about two years after Baring PE acquired a 75% stake in the company, buying out part of the holding of promoters as well as General Atlantic Partners.


“We didn’t want to do the transition in the middle of Covid-19 so we delayed it a little bit,” said Koita.

Following the transition, cofounders Koita and Jagdish Moorjani will step down from their executive roles. They will continue to be significant shareholders and be a part of the board. They will also spend more time on not-for-profit and social impact initiatives.

Sambasivan was earlier president of patient services and chief strategy officer at life sciences platform company Eversana. Before that, he had spent nearly 15 years at IT services provider Cognizant as global head of life sciences.
