Zoomcar Holdings on Tuesday announced a strategic partnership with CARS24 to improve vehicle quality and safety in the self-drive car rental sector through tech-enabled inspections and tracking.

Under this collaboration, CARS24 will conduct Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDIs) on new host vehicles and install GPS tracking devices to ensure transparency, safety, and improved guest experience, according to a company statement.

The pilot programme will initially focus on vehicles in Delhi, with plans to expand based on outcomes.

CARS24's certified experts will perform thorough checks on mechanical, electrical, and safety systems. Vehicles passing these inspections will receive a "verified" tag on Zoomcar's platform, signalling quality assurance to renters and unlocking higher earning potential for hosts.

Additionally, the GPS devices will enable real-time vehicle tracking and monitor driver behaviour, helping prevent unauthorised use and promoting safer driving.
