Who are Yashish Dahiya and Alok Bansal, founders of Policybazaar?

For Yashish Dahiya and Alok Bansal, their 13-year journey of building Policybazaar as India’s largest insurance marketplace started even before they launched the company.

Yashish Dahiya

Yashish Dahiya founded Policybazaar in 2008 after his first venture which aggregated insurance companies failed. Dahiya is the Chairman and CEO of PB Fintech, the parent company of Policybazaar, Paisabazaar and Policybazaar.ae.


Before launching his entrepreneurial journey, he was the MD of ebookers.com, a pan European online travel distributor, which was also an FTSE 250 company listed on Nasdaq.

He also spent a few years as a management consultant with Bain & Co. in their London office. Dahiya graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from IIT Delhi. He later went on to complete a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from IIM Ahmedabad, and an MBA from INSEAD.

Dahiya likes to spend his spare time outdoors, is the current masters national champion in swimming and is the fifth-fastest Ironman race from India across all ages.

Alok Bansal

Alok Bansal is a Director and chief financial officer at PB Fintech that owns Policybazaar and Paisabazaar. He heads various functions including corporate finance and controllership, tax, treasury, strategic planning, and analytics at the company.

Bansal was part of Dahiya's first venture First Europa as the finance director.

Prior to joining Policybazaar, he worked in various leadership roles with Mahindra Group, iGate Global Solutions and GE. He was recognised as one of the top 100 CFOs in the country by the CFO India Magazine in 2016. His interests lie in science and technology, economic empowerment, education and civil rights.
