Gurgaon-based ecommerce enablement platform Unicommerce has expanded its board of directors, onboarding former SoftBank India head Manoj Kohli, FMCG sector veteran Ullas Kamath, and Sheroes founder Sairee Chahal as independent directors.

The Snapdeal-owned software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform for ecommerce, which is targeting its initial public offering (IPO) next year, has also appointed Snapdeal founders Kunal Bahl and Rohit Bansal as non-executive directors.

Bahl and Bansal are also cofounders of AceVector Group, which now houses Snapdeal, Stellaro Brands, and Unicommerce.

Snapdeal had acquired Unicommerce in 2015. In 2021, it sold a 30% stake in the firm to SoftBank.

In a statement, Unicommerce said the idea of onboarding more directors is to “augment its leadership reach, institutionalise its governance structure, and steer the company into the next phase of growth”.

“The depth and diversity of their (new board members’) expertise aligns seamlessly with our vision of anticipating and serving the evolving technology needs of our customers both in India and in other countries,” said Kapil Makhija, managing director and chief executive of Unicommerce.

In November, ET had reported that the company had commenced the book-building process for its IPO and capital markets and investment firm CLSA was roped in as one of the managers for the issue.

Unicommerce reported a 52.5% on-year increase in its operating revenue for 2022-23 to Rs 90 crore from Rs 59 crore in FY22. Its net profit increased by 8% to Rs 6.45 crore in FY23 from Rs 5.98 crore in FY22.

Founded in 2012, Unicommerce offers technology products to manage various ecommerce operations, including warehouse and inventory management, order management, omnichannel retail management, and seller management for marketplaces. It counts large new-age consumer companies such as Lenskart, Myntra, Mamaearth and Boat among its clientele.
