Direct-to-consumer beauty company MyGlamm has acquired parenting platform BabyChakra to expand its operations in South Asia. With this acquisition, MyGlamm and Baby Chakra will be investing Rs 100 crore in building a mother-and-baby content-to-commerce platform over the next three years, the company said in a statement.

The acquisition talks began in 2020 and were finalised this month. As part of the acquisition, Naiyya Saggi, founder and CEO of BabyChakra, will join MyGlamm as cofounder and president. Saggi will spearhead the mother-and-baby vertical and build out the overall community vertical for MyGlamm. She will also join the MyGlamm board.

Saggi said, “MyGlamm is an established leader in the ecommerce ecosystem with a shared value system on how to develop, launch and scale best-in-class products that cater intuitively to the needs of our consumers. While the Indian mother-and-babycare market is large and growing rapidly at 15-20% CAGR (compound annual growth rate), Indian mothers and kids still need products that are truly personalised to their needs. I am also very excited to contribute to the group by leading its overall efforts in building out engaged communities based on a data- and product-first approach."

Launched in 2017, MyGlamm has an online and offline presence in 70 cities and towns in India. It recently closed its Series C funding round at Rs 530 crore and expects to grow to an annualised revenue of Rs 750 crore by December, the company said.

BabyChakra will continue to focus on building a brand in the mother-and-baby ecosystem, starting with India. BabyChakra counts over 25 million families as its users.

Priyanka Gill, cofounder and president of MyGlamm, said, “BabyChakra addresses important concerns and supports moms from the very first day of their maternal journey. I look forward to working alongside Darpan and Naiyya in building India’s largest parenting platform.”
