Cityflo, an urban-mobility company, has roped in Colonel Suresh Babu A B (Retired) as its director of operations, tapping a military veteran with deep logistics experience as it prepares for a significant scale-up across cities and service verticals.

A former commander in the Indian Army’s Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers, he brings over two decades of experience in overseeing mission-critical logistics, infrastructure, and engineering programs across India and Southeast Asia.

His previous assignments include establishing a technical training institute in Myanmar under India’s Ministry of External Affairs and managing multi-crore fleet maintenance systems in remote terrains.

At Cityflo, he will be responsible for leading operations nationwide, tasked with building scalable systems, strengthening governance, and improving service reliability — core to the company’s strategy as it expands its footprint and public-sector partnerships.

“Col. Suresh joins Cityflo at a time when our role is expanding from that of a commuter brand to an integrated mobility partner to cities and governments,” said Jerin Venad, CEO and cofounder, Cityflo.

“His leadership brings deep systems thinking and operational clarity that will help us serve more passengers with consistency, safety, and professionalism at scale.”

Cityflo currently operates in several Indian metros, offering enterprise commute services, public-private transit partnerships, and app-based intercity routes. The company has been ramping up investment in operational infrastructure, including predictive maintenance frameworks, route optimisation tools, and structured workforce training.

The appointment comes as Cityflo expands its work with government agencies under its Urban Glide program, which focuses on clean mobility, last-mile connectivity, and infrastructure modernisation on high-density corridors.

The challenges of mobility, like those in defence, are solved through clear processes, strong teams, and accountability at every level.”, said Col. Suresh. “I am excited to join the mission that Cityflo is on to define mobility in the country and build for scale while ensuring our operations grow with structure, speed, and purpose.”

He holds advanced degrees in mechanical engineering and systems management, and is certified in Lean Six Sigma and Total Quality Management. His remit will span vehicle performance, route planning, and incident response protocols as Cityflo deepens its presence in India’s urban mobility ecosystem.
