Graphics platform Canva acquires video ad startup Mango AI and animation company Cavalry

In a statement, the company said MangoAI co-founder Nirmal Govind will become its Chief Algorithms Officer, a new role to lead personalisation and algorithm-driven experiences across the platform.
The company did not disclose any financial information on the acquisitions.
Canva said Cavalry will add motion and animation capabilities to its toolkit, an area that has typically required specialised software.
MangoAI, meanwhile, will focus on creative optimisation for video advertising.
Canva said it ended 2025 with over 265 million users globally, 31 million paid seats, and more than $4 billion in annualised revenue.
