A foothold in B2B
With this acquisition, BrightChamps has entered the B2B arena, founder and CEO Ravi Bhushan told ET in an interaction.
Pavan Allena, founder of Metamorphosis Edu, will lead BrightChamps’ B2B vertical under chief financial officer Amit Kumar.
Bhushan also told ET that the company has been uniting all its product offerings, including those newly acquired, into a singular platform. “The entire team of Metamorphosis will be part of BrightChamps now. No layoffs on either side... This important piece was completely missing and now we are equipped with the right set of people by team and the right set of products to go to the school ecosystem,” Bhushan said.
The B2B partnerships will also help BrightChamps set up labs within schools and also train teachers in curriculum by industry experts and vetted by an in-house independent, self-regulatory board.
Currently operating from offices in India, Vietnam, US, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates, BrightChamps offers online courses in programming, artificial intelligence, design thinking, communications, english language and financial literacy to children aged between 6 and 16 years.
While Metamorphosis Edu has so far focussed on setting up entrepreneurship cells in schools to teach its courses, as the B2B arm of BrightChamps, it plans to introduce more skill-based learning courses.
Earlier acquisitions
In June 2022, BrightChamps had announced a plan to close mergers and acquisitions worth $100 million through stock and cash deals. Before acquiring Metamorphosis Edu, it had bought two companies.
In February 2022, the company announced the acquisition of Education10x, a financial literacy education platform for children, in a cash and stock deal.
In August 2022, it acquired Singapore-based Schola, a live learning platform for kids, in a $15 million cash and stock deal.
Brightchamps, valued at $650 million with $63 million in total funding, was founded in 2020 by Bhushan, an IIT-Varanasi graduate. It is currently operational in over 30 countries, including India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, the US and the UAE.
