Education portal Collegedunia, which offers a college search engine along with reviews, has clocked a revenue of Rs 73 crore in 2019-20 fiscal despite rising uncertainties due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The startup said it managed to maintain 30% quarterly revenue growth in the second quarter of the ongoing financial year. It attributed the performance to 50% year-on-year (YoY) increase in traffic.

For October 2020, Similarweb, an analytics tool for website traffic, reports that Collegedunia has managed 21 million sessions. The startup's newly launched government exam preparation portal Prepp.in does around 5 million sessions a month. The startup’s average session duration is over three minutes and 2.75 pages per visit.

Founded by BITS Pilani alumnus Sahil Chalana, the startup features highest review count in the category with 3 lakh reviews for 17,000 degree colleges and universities of India.

The startup's study abroad vertical too has started gaining traction and is serving average 4000 study abroad counselling subscribers per month.

“Fundamentals have fuelled our growth more than expected. Our checks indicate strength in user engagement and giving a more immersive experience for the user coming for college admissions,” Chalana said.

The firm's business head Sanjay Meena claims, they have built a "symbiotic relation with their clients, enabling colleges finish admissions early and start the classes to minimize the loss done by COVID induced lockdown."
