Ousted BharatPe cofounder Ashneer Grover tweeted a poem taking a dig at the fintech company's chief executive Suhail Sameer, who resigned on Monday.

Grover also targeted the company's cofounder Shashvat Nakrani and asked him to "man up and take care of the business".

"Poem for start of 2023: 'Chala gaya Suhail Sameer - he was a nalla! Shashvat - why don't you man up and sambhalo the galla?!'

For my English speaking friends: 1) Nalla (nalayak) is incompetent/incapable and 2) galla is helm of affairs," Grover tweeted.

Grover resigned from BharatPe and its board in March 2022, weeks after his wife Madhuri Jain, the company's head of controls, was sacked by BharatPe, which accused them of fraud and other irregularities.

Sameer, who joined BharatPe in August 2020 as president, was elevated to CEO in August 2021.

On Monday, BharatPe said, "Sameer will transition from chief executive officer to strategic advisor effective January 7, 2023." It did not say why he had resigned.

"This (new role for Sameer) will ensure a smooth transition for current CFO, Nalin Negi, who has been appointed interim CEO to partner with senior executives to bolster execution in all phases of the company's business," the company added.

Rajnish Kumar, chairman of the board, thanked Sameer for "steering BharatPe into a leadership position as a fintech player in India".
