Omnichannel jewellery brand BlueStone said on Tuesday it has elevated chief operating officer Sudeep Nagar to cofounder status.

With this, IIM-Ahmedabad alumnus Nagar joins founder and CEO Gaurav Singh Kushwaha as the second founder of the Bengaluru startup.

"In these 10 years, his (Nagar’s) initiatives have impacted all possible functions like marketing, retail, sales, logistics, accounts and more. I can't think of a better person to share the mantle of cofounder,” Kushwaha said in a statement.

Nagar joined BlueStone a decade ago, in December 2012, having worked across industries such as software and luxury real estate.

Founded in 2011, BlueStone currently operates over 140 stores apart from its website and app. It has created 8,700 designs across over 100 collections since inception.

In March, Bluestone raised more than $30 million (Rs 230 crore) from Hero Enterprises at a valuation of $410 million, its first funding after nearly six years. ET reported in February that Bluestone was planning an initial public offering, looking to raise Rs 1,500 crore.
